Bring all ingredients to room temperature. Cream butter (or margarine) and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add remaining ingredients, and mix well. Pour batter into greased and lightly floured tube pan. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until a. pick comes out clean. •Vanilla, orange, lemon extract or fruit flavored liqueurs. Yield: 1 very large cake Tip: This is the best pound cake we’ve come across. It freezes very well. Serve topped with sweetened fruit.
