Keenan said he has always been interested in flying. When asked why he likes flying, he said, “1 like to do it. I love the thrill of it.”
He has been influenced by his dad who is a pilot and a flight instructor. Now that he has his private pilot’s license, he plans on qualifying for his instrument rating this summer. He said that will involve a lot of self study. Once he has his instrument rating, he will be qualified to fly in many types of weather conditions which are out of bounds with his present license. Right now he cannot fly through a cloud; he must keep a certain distance from clouds.
Keenan works hard to pay for his lessons, which cost $42 an hour for the plqne rental (fuel is included) plus from $ 13 an hour for ground instruction and $ 17 an hour for primary flight instruction. The fee for the instrument
