District representative Robert Anderson voting “no.”
The motion to approve the budget with $36,000 subtracted from the bottom line passed 4 to 1 with Mr. Frazier voting “no.”
The $24,000 position of Supervisor of Facilities was put in the budget in place of an administrative position of Director of Administrative Services when the School Board reduced the budget by $118,000. Prior to that the supervisors had made it clear they did not see a need for the position. School Superintendent David Gangel said that having someone in the position had saved the school system money, but he and the board agreed to drop the administrative position and instead hire a “classir fied” employee to oversee maintenance and transportation.
In defending the need for the new position, Dr. Gangel said the person has various duties, but is most needed
