As they head toward the Bull Run District track meet at Manassas Park this Thursday, Rappahannock’s traclc team is again concentrating on individual performances.
There are simply not enough participants in the track and field program for RCHS to be competitive as a team. However, several members of the RCHS teams have a chance to advance to regional and even state competition in their events.
In a meet at Page County High School with Clarke County last Wednesday, boys’ team runner Mark Jenkins had two firsts — the 3200 meter and the 1600 meter.
Willie Shanks was first in the 100 meters, second in the long jump, third in the triple jump, fourth in the high jump and fourth at 200 meters.
