The marriage of Kelley Lynn Updike and Richard Allen Henneberger took place on April 13 at Barnes United Methodist Church, Newsoms. The Rev. Kenneth Williams of Newsoms performed the double-ring ceremony. The parents of the bride were married on this same date twenty-eight years ago.
The bride is die daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Hartwell Updike of Newsoms. She is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee L. Thorpe of Newsoms and the paternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Updike of Washington.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Zulma E. Henneberger of Grasonville, Md. and the late Mr. George Robert Henneberger. He is the maternal grandson of Mrs. Sigrid N. Whitney, of Bowie, Md. and Mr. Raul C. Santiago of San Juan, Puerto Rico and the paternal grandson of Mrs. Eula Henneberger of Annapolis,. Md. and the late Mr. Henneberger.
The bride and groom placed the single floral arrangement on the alter in memory of Lee'and Reba Thorpe and George R. Henneberger.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses, pink lilies, ivy and eucalyptus.
Mrs. Kay Grizzard served as organist. John Stewart and Mrs. Linda T. Drake sang “I Cross My Heart,” “When You Say Nothing At All,” and “The Wedding Prayer.” Rachel Stewart and David Coats were Acolytes.
Jennifer Updike of Richmond was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Traci Chamberlain, friend of the bride, of Raleigh, NC and Sigrid O’Ferrall, cousin of the groom, of Bowie, Md.
