During the current school yew* former elementary school Principal David Smith was named to the position which was retitled Director of Administrative Services. Besides developing and following environmental laws the position involved oversea, ing improvements to the elementary, school sewage lagoon, the bus transportation system, maintenance projects and the school custodians.
Mr. Estes said, “Our per-student costs are more than surrounding coup*-, ties. I realize there is an economy of,, scale, and I do think you are doing a. great job, but sometimes you have to do more than one job.” He said Richard Smith could help out with.thp duties of the position as well as his position as assistant principal. IJe, noted in the past the assistant superintendent has been responsible for bus transportation.
Dr. Gangel replied, “You are 100 percent correct. It can be done, "but something else will be dropped.” -
Mr. Estes said he expected a central compactor site to be open by the start of school next year and said the schools could carry trash to that site in a pickup truck daily rather than contracting to have dumpsters at the schools.
