Flying in a Cessna 152 over Rappahannock County on a beautiful spring day is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
Flying in that Cessna over Rappahannock County with 17 yearold Keenan Roberts can be one of life’s biggest thrills.
Keenan, a senior at Rappahannock County High School, got his private pilot’s license last August and has been taking several of his friends, including Jason Weakley, Tim Zirn, Jim Clark and Sarah Gentry, flying out of the Warrenton Fauquier airport in Midland. Seventeen is the minimum age to qualify for the private pilot’s license and 16 is the youngest at which anyone is allowed to solo.
