It is a little known fact that the Fauquier Free Clinic in Warrenton serves residents of both Fauquier and Rappahannock Counties. 40 ’Citizens are eligible whose income matches the requirements and Who have no health insurance, Medicaid or Medicare. Special effort is made to see any child presented to the Clinic for available services.
In addition to the medical services offefed, a new Dental Clinic has been added. The clinic also serves as a health care referral source for the residents of the community in need.
Staffed by volunteer doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and community members, the clinic is funded by donations from citizenry, churches arid organizations. Many of our Rappahannock neighbors work regularly to serve the clinic.
Present Rappahannock volunteers include Dr. Jerry Martin, physician; Karen Flynn R.N., who serves as a nurse and is a member of the Board of Directors; Linda Deardoff, first grade teacher at Central Elementary; Kathleen Gallivan, who works at the Clinic as a pharmacy assistant and Spanish translator; and Brenda Hitt, member of the Board of Directors who works for Social Services in Warrenton.
