In a special meeting of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors Monday night, John Schultz was named Hampton District representative for the County Board of Assessors.
Fanning Baumgardner, the previous appointee, indicated to the Board that he would be unable to serve because he could not commit the time needed to the job, said Rappahannock County Administrator John McCarthy. Therefore, it was necessary to appoint a new member and have he or she swom in no later than April 3, which necessitated the special meeting since the next regular Board meeting is April 7.
