Any development doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The effects are widespread and the bottom line should always be quality of life and not profit. This article is inaccurate and incomplete by portraying these “new” developments as something beneficial, in demand, and radically different from other developments. Sprawl is sprawl and with open countryside an ever decreasing rarity the focus should be on conserving these open spaces for the benefit of all.

In response to a series of articles in The Rappahannock News about the virtues of Quaint Development, I would like to respond by saying that you can put lipstick on a hog but that doesn’t make him pretty.
