Winter Sports
Week Held
At Wakefield
Over half of Wakefield’s student body, along with parents, teachers, and friends, participated in Wakefield’s 17th annual Winter Sports Week this past month. The group of approximately 200 skiers, placed in classes ranging from beginner to advanced, went to Whitetail Ski Resort in Mereersburg, Pa.
The week of skiing and instruction also included NASTAR ski racing. Technique and Speed skiing competitions. Trophies and medals were awarded to competitors at the Winter Sports Banquet the final evening of the program.
Winners of the Students’ Cup for Overall Best Time were siblings Brooke (Grade 6) and Mike (Grade 11) Casey of Warrenton.
