Elder Forest Atwood Jr. of Shenandoah who is the grandson of the late Elder A. F. Sudduth, who once pastored Thornton’s Gap Primitive Baptist Church.
the present Thornton’s Gap Meeting House now stands, and before the log building was built, the members met in the woods there.
There have been twenty-five elders who pastored this little flock, some having served one year to others for more than twenty years. Currently the church is served by Elder Toliver Utz. Although we are few in number we feel we are truly blessed of the Lord. We hold fast to the old paths and lean solely upon our faith in the Sovereignty of God and no works of man for his salvation.
