Fishing Operation

Gets Go Ahead

By JAN LAVALLEY

Rappahannock Nona Staff Writer

The Rappahannock Board of Zoning Appeals followed the recommendation by the county Planning Commission last week and approved a special use permit for a fly fishing operation.

Miller Properties LC, which owns the property Mt. Vernon Farm in Sperryville applied for the permit in order to operate a fly fishing business called Turkey Mountain Outfitters.

The business will be operated from the farm and at the nearby Thornton River downstream from the bridge at Route 620. They will limit clients by reservation and the availability of fishing space. They do not expect more than six cars on the property at a given time.
