The answers to these questions would be an educational experience for local taxpayers. How much funding would the schools not receive if the non-resident children currently enrolled were not present for the attendance county? Does the presence of these children mean the school has to hire another teacher of aide? Are these students accommodated within existing class structures? Do these children cost additional services or do these children cost less services than resident children? Be sure that 1 mean the average student — not the special requirements resident students. Does the school system have to operate an additional bus route or even an additional bus to provide transportation for these students? Dr. Gangel cannot be expected to provide facts beyond cost figures.
The citizens who are concerned about costs might appreciate some research to assess the possible nonfmancial benefit to the school and community which these non-residents employees contribute.
