answered. “If he is o.k. let him go tonight.” My reasoning was that since a chickadee has such a high metabolic rate and bums energy rapidly, the bird may well starve overnight. If allowed freedom while there was still light the chickadee could feed a bit longer; then find his usual roosting hole.
