The amendments to the Rappahannock County Zoning Ordinance now being considered by the Planning Commission have problems that should be resolved. Our citizens think these amendments will prevent the building of houses on the “Ridge Tops” of our County’s Conservation Zone. This is true but the amendments also apply the same standards to build a house to every lot in the Conservation Zone even if the lot is not on a “Ridge Top.” This is expensive and not necessary to protect the ridge tops, nor is it fair to the lot owner.
