Psych Evaluation
Set for Moody *

In Rappahannock County Circuit Court on May 16, Judge W. Shore Robertson ordered a psychiatric evaluation for Anthony Franklin Moody, 38, of Luray, who was found guilty of attempted malicious wounding on May 1.
Mr. Moody was set to be sentenced on May 16, but his court-appointed attorney, Laura Cook, asked the judge to approve an order for the psychiatric evaluation before sentencing. Ms. Cook pointed out that her client's behavior had been quite extreme at times, usually while in the company of law enforcement officials.
On June 5 Mr. Moody will return to court for the court to hear the outcome of the psychiatric evaluation.
Also on May 16, Ronnie L. Kennedy, 20, of Culpeper, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property. He had received two chainsaws as stolen property. The felony’s sentencing limits of 1 to 20 years in the Dept, of Corrections, up to 12 months in jail, and/or a fine of up to $2500. Mr. Kennedy will be sentenced on Aug. 21.
John Wesley Leake, 22, of Chester Gap, was sentenced on May 15 to two years in the Dept, of Corrections for possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.
