But, H.B. Wood, also of Woodville, said he thought Mr. Clark’s suggestion to throw it in the trash was better.
The public hearing was closed and the Commissioners decided to go back to the table for a work session next month and try to refine the proposal to reflect some of the points that were made. The Commissioners thanked all the citizens who came out and all who spoke.
Mike Massie, representative from the Board of Supervisors to the Planning Commission, said the more people that come and share ideas the easier their job is.
In other business the Commission heard a request for a special use permit for a fly fishing operation by Miller Properties LC. They recommended the request for approval to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
The Commissioners also heard a report from a committee consisting of Dr. Werner Krebser, Alex Stone and Tom Junk on Bed & Breakfast operations in the county.
The committee met to discuss the issue and recommended to the Commission that B & Bs: Be limited to six bedrooms; serve only breakfast and supper to guests only; and show on their site plans where parking and kitchen facilities are located; and that Tourist Homes and B & Bs are the same, but a Boarding House is different and should not fall in the same category.
Mr. McCarthy will draft the proposal and have it for their next meeting in June.
