The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department is holding its annual carnival this week, May 28-31.
Wednesday night is ride all night for one low price. Thursday night will be the grand parade which starts at 7 p.m. The crowning of the queen will be held on Friday right and awarding of the grand prizes will be held Saturday night.
Everyone is urged to support their local fire department.
Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Dennis of Jackson, South Carolina arrived on Thursday to spend some time with Mr. and Mrs. Ranny Aylor and other relatives in the area.
While here Mr. and Mrs. Dennis and Mr. and Mrs. Ranny Aylor have been visiting Mrs. Dorothy Lewis who is a patient in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Thelma Jenkins was a Saturday night guest of Mrs. Lillie Corbin.
Mrs. Catherine Brown spent last week with her daughter, Mrs. Barbara Payne in Warrenton.
Mrs. Shirley Kushner of Gaithersburg, Maryland was a weekend guest of her mother, Mrs. Brown. £ Visitors in the Brown home on Sunday were Mrs. Reda Brown, her grandson and granddaughter and their friend of Winchester.
