Sperryville Carnival Underway
Sperry ville Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring their annual carnival this week, tonight, Wednesday is family night, Thursday evening will be the grand parade beginning at 7 p.m., crowning of the queen will take place on Friday evening and awarding of the grand prizes will be held on Saturday evening. All residents are urged to support the company.
Teen Leaders Needed
4-H Teens and/or Teen Counselors interested in being a teen leader at the Rappahannock County 4-H Day Camp the week of June 23-27, 1997 at the 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal should call the Extension Office at 675-3619. The age for Teen Counselors is 13 through 19.
Art Show Scheduled
The Rappahannock County High School art show will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 30 and 31 in the Commons Area at the high school. For more information call Harriette Rosenblatt at 987-8575.
A.V.F.D. Carnival Set
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual Firemen’s Carnival June 25 through June 28. The parade will be held on Thursday, June 26. Those interested in entering should contact J.B. Carter at 937-4218.
Dowsing Program At Healing Arts
The Rappahannock Healing Arts Center’s Weekly Life Enrichment Series features Dan Lewis on Wednesday evening, June 4, from 7-9 p.m., for a program entitled “Dowsing and Divining.” Dan will explain his work as a dowser, as well as the techniques he uses in his healing practice. He’ll demonstrate how dowsing is used for locating water and divining answers to questions. Everyone will have an opportunity to use a dowsing rod. The Center is located at 11945 Lee Highway in Sperryville. Call 987-7241, ext. #1 for details.
Drama Scheduled
The public is invited to see the original drama “Rumble in the Mountain-A Geological Fable of Conflict and Resolution” on Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rappahannock County High School Auditorium.
