I wonder how many county residents are familiar with the Rappahannock County Comprehensive Plan, produced by the county Planning Commission? To quote from the plan’s introduction:
The Comprehensive Plan is a written document which sets forth characteristics of Rappahannock County in general terms. The plan is Rappahannock County’s statement of its aspirations and goals for future growth, or put another way, the plan is a tool by which county citizens in conjunction with the local governing body ask, “Where do we go from here; what do we become?”
In order to highlight this document, and the issues it raises, the Library now features a new display: The “County Comer” is bookcase dedicated to the Comprehensive Plan and related material. Here you’ll find land use surveys, traffic calming studies, books, videos, etc., all pertaining to specific aspects of the plan.
The “Comer” is very much a work in progress right now, but in the future we will include pamphlets, a photo display, and information on related Internet sites. The bookcase is located beside the “New Books” display. Come on
