“I forgive you,” three words that have changed the life of local recording artist Yolonda Deane, 33. She’s a lovely Italian lady with long flowing black hair, who can really ‘‘belt out a song” which really comes from the heart.
Except for the past eight years, since Yolanda and husband Mark became Christians, she has known a lifetime of sorrow, pain, and hurt— from sexual abuse by family members to four miscarriages. Miracles do happen, though, and Yolonda is expecting their third child in December. Each of her songs on her just-released gospel tape tells a story.
Her story is one of forgiveness. “I can say I do love my family now. Even though the times were hard. I’m so proud that my mother and father are now a part of God’s family. I love them very much,” says Yolonda.
Bom into a dysfunctional home, Yolonda says she is still learning to love, hence, the name of her gospel tape, “Learning to Love.” She is currently writing her own songs for another gospel tape.
In an effort to minister to others through her music and testimony, she visits Boxwood monthly. Boxwood is a rehabilitation facility in Culpeper for anyone trying to get off drugs and change their lives.
She’s proud of her family. She’s especially grateful for the strong support of husband, Mark. Mark is partowner of Alweighs Scales, a company that sells and services all types of scales. They have offices located in Richmond, North Carolina, Virginia
