The clients will enter and exit at Mt. Vernon Lane, north of the bridge at the Thornton River on U.S. 522 and Route 211. There will be a small, unlit sign at the entrance so that people may find the business. They will obtain permission from other landowners to use' their property where the Thornton River touches property other than Mt. Vernon Farm.
Turkey Mountain Outfitters will conduct fly fishing schools. They will also provide fly fishing trips, guided and non-guided, and host clients for half day or full day lessons and excursions.
The business will be located in several existing buildings of the former dairy operation. They expect to rent and sell fly fishing equipment to their clients. This includes flies, line, leader, rods, reels, waders and such. They will not open a retail business to the public and do not expect additional traffic or visitors as a result of the retail operation. The fly fishing and instruction will be conducted during the daytime, seven days per week. Jim Hickey presented the application, on behalf of the Millers, to the BZA which approved it unanimously with the stipulation that the sign not be lit.
In old business, an extension of two years was granted to Wilma Burke to make improvements on her property. Her permit would expire in July of this year.

A plea agreement with the Commonwealth called for suspension of the sentence, as it was shown that the firearms found in Mr. Leake’s house did not belong to him. Though the sentence is suspended, he will be on five years supervised probation following his release from jail on other charges.
