C.G. Thornhill of Boston, with his litter of 10 pigs, placed first in the county and in the district and third in the state in the 56-Day Swine Litter Weight Contest for 1967. He is a member of the Rappahannock Senior 4-H Club, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thornhill. Nancy Ann Lillard has been named to the dean’s list at Monroe College in Middleton. She is the daughter of Ernest Lillard of Washington, Va. The Post Office Department plans to provide new post office facilities at Sperryville according to information received from the office of John O. Marsh Jr., Seventh District Congressman. From the standpoint of lifetime earning capacity, the average male resident of Rappahannock County is worth more than he ever was. Because of the changes in recent years in wage scales, education and economic values in general, the average young man in the local area who is just setting out to earn a living can look forward to a lifetime income of no less than $141,000.
