They must also transport or pick up prisoners to or from other jurisdictions for trials and that takes a deputy out of the work force here for almost the entire shift if not beyond. ‘ The jailer on duty must also wait on customers who come in to the office such as those seeking permits. And, there is always the paperwork. It is so excessive at times that you could have a full time person doing nothing but that. Unfortunately, that won't happen. The filling out of forms and reports is yet another facet of the job for all personnel.
