At Willis’ suggestion, the board voted to purchase a small air compressor for filling tires and cleaning tools, and five trash containers at about $5 each.
• Critzer, the council’s representative on the Tbwn Planning Commission, said the commission recommended that town resident John Byam replace Carolyn Thornton on the commission, since Thorntop had moved out of town.
• Byam, who was in charge of the town kiosk committee, reported that a contract to build the small structure was awarded to Blue Water Builders for $2500.
Since the flagpole would have to be moved if it were located in front of the post office, the committee was discussing an alternative location with the owners, Rinehardt Lynch and Patrick O’Connell.
• The council approved the resolution for the Fourth of July with RAAC acting as the town’s agent, in order to facilitate the event. The craft sale will begin at noon instead of 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 4, Tompkins said.
Due to limited parking and congestion in town, the shuttle service will be expanded to assist church-goers.
• The search for the elusive time capsule plaque has led down some blind alleys. Willis spoke about talking to County Administrator John McCarthy about having a new plaque made.
• The Department of Motor Vehicle mobile unit will come again to the parking lot at Trinity Episcopal Church on May 6.
