Helen Mae Compton, 71, of Amissville died March 22 at her residence.
She was born May 26, 1927 in Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late Connor Horton and Nora Alice Haines.
Mrs. Compton was a homemaker.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Compton.
Survivors include three sons, James Lee Compton of Flint Hill, Thomas Daniel Compton of Amissville and William Harrison Compton of Culpeper and two daughters, Alice Grigsby of Flint Hill and Mary Catherine Hume of Burr Hill, Va.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren .
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m. at Clore-Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper with the Rev. Clyde Woodard officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
