Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office personnel are investigating the theft of a portable battery charger, reported stolen March 15 from a home on Seven Ponds Road near Amissville.
The battery charger, valued at between $100-200, is an Exide brand 200-amp model. It is mounted on wheels. jj
Also under investigation is damage caused to a mailbox on White Oak Hill Lane near Castleton, reported to the Sheriffs Office at about 2 a.m. on March 20.
The owner of the mailbox reported that he heard a loud explosion in the vicinity of the road in front of his house. He observed someone "walking in the area, but did not go outside to investigate.
“It could have been a cherry bomb or M-80,” said Sheriff Lairry Sherertz.
