You can go home early and come back in the morning, or just come in the morning, or whatever you want.” Mrs. Settle went on to say with a smile, “Of course, those who do stay all night have the best of times, and they get to enjoy the pizza at midnight”.

Mrs. Settle also stressed that it is not necessary actually to participate in the Relay to help. Volunteers are needed to plan and conduct the event. Contributions are also welcome.

Persons or organizations may contribute by sponsoring a team or team member; by purchasing a luminaria in honor or memory of a cancer survivor or victim; or simply by making a cash contribution. Checks should be payable to the American Cancer Society.

Remember the event slogan: “There is no finish line until we find a cure!”
