“Birth of a River,” a new instrumental collaboration between Trapezoid’s leader and co-founder Paul Reisler and multi-instrumentalist Bobby Read of The Bruce Hornsby Band and Trapezoid alumnus, is a tour de force of fiery poetic writing and fiercely intense musicianship.

Featuring Paul Reisler’s virtuoso performances on classical, steel string and electric guitars and hammered dulcimer and Bobby Read’s emotive and aggressive playing on soprano, alto and tenor saxes in addition to his colorful flute, clarinet, piano, synth and percussions, “Birth of a River” traces a musical-river’s journey from the ebb and flow of quiet back waters to the rushing violence of raging waterfalls. Or as the Washington Post put it, “Their tunes climb up the Blue Ridge and down to the Bayou and back up the Himalayas.”
