the Uak Valley Plantation, took a cruise on the Mississippi River and went to the Global Wildlife Farm.
On May 15 Mary celebrated her 70th birthday, on May 13th her husband and family gave her a party at the Forest Grove School. Many family and friends attended.
Cathy Lou and Carrington Smith has been very busy this month as well. They went to Tazwell,Va., then to Augusta, WVa. to pick up a puppy, then to Fleeton Beach in Reedville, where there took a cruise to Tangier Island and saw the annual Blessing of the Fleet boat parade.
They saw many family and friends in their travels. Cathy and grandson Curt have seen fox pups and a black bear at their house this month. Be on the look out.
Some sad news to report, on May 17th an early morning fire destroyed the home of Catherine Gallery, she is James Gough’s mom. They lost everything and are going to have to rebuild. At the moment they are staying with James and Edna. A fund has been started to help them and if you would like to contribute, you can send a check to Catherine Gallery, 1478 Gough Lane, Amissville, Va. 20106. They are thankful that the dog’s bark woke them, but the dogs couldn’t be saved. We send them are prayers.
