Cecil Delaney Williams Sr., 59, of Front Royal died Friday, May 19 at his home.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 24 at the Willis Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Merlin Shorb and Rev. James Burke.
Burial followed in Willis Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Williams was born Nov. 21, 1940 in Rappahannock County, a son of Bossie W. Williams of Front Royal and the late Violet Virginia Walters Williams.
He had extensive training in the field of law enforcement and attended the Virginia State Sheriff and City Sergeant Schools at State Police Training Headquarters in Richmond.
He was a deputy for the Warren County Sheriff’s Department for 12 years and was promoted to Chief Investigator. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was a magistrate for Warren County.
He was a former member of the Front Royal Fire Department and was Captain of the Front Royal Rescue Squad. He retired as the Vice-President of First Federal Savings and Loan of Front Royal.
He was a member of Willis Chapel United Methodist Church and was Official Board Chairman.
In addition to his father, other survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Walters Williams; two sons, Cecil D. Williams Jr. of Stephens City and his wife, Patricia and Christopher Williams of Front Royal; a daughter, Lisa D. Ordile of Chester Gap and her husband, Joseph; a sister, Linda Diane Dolly of Front Royal and her husband, David and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Isreal Williams, Earl Williams and William Eugene Williams.
Pallbearers were Blaine Tewalt, John Smedley, Lynn Armentrout, Gary Keyser, Kenneth Ordile and Jason Kibler.
Honorary pallbearers were the men of Willis Chapel Church.

Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.
