smooth running of the convention. Mr. Reeve was elected to serve on the Credentials Committee for the State Convention.
Kate Gagnon presented the Health Care resolution to the Convention and Bill Tieckelmann introduced the “soft money” resolution. The Health Care resolution passed unanimously and the “soft money” resolution passed by a wide margin.
At the 10 th Congressional District Convention all of the Delegates and Alternates were fully pledged to and enthusiastically supportive of A1 Gore for President. The several speakers further charged that enthusiasm. Perhaps, however, the most stirring speech of the afternoon was made by Cornell Brooks, honoring our Senator, Chuck Robb. By the end of the speech the whole auditorium was on its feet, determined to not just stand up for Senator Robb, but to work our hearts for him.
This 10th District Convention was the first for most of the Rappahannock Delegation. We’re all looking forward to the State Convention in Norfolk on June 2 and 3 and grateful for the chance to represent our county.
