vice on May 17, 1953. Rev. Gilbert Profitt was pastor during this period. Since then a new sign has been erected in the front yard of the church, pew cushions added and on March 20, 1988 a dedication service was held for the new baptistery. Rev. Larry Hovis was the pastor at that time.
Following a period of strategic planning in the early 1990’s under the leadership of Rev. Darrell Bare, the church recognized its need to expand its facility if it wished to grow and more effectively minister to the community. Upon the arrival of Rev. Phillip W. Bailey in January of 1996, the church continued its journey and launched a “Find Us Faithful Campaign” to acquire support both spiritually and financially to accomplish its goal. Following a successful campaign, the church had a ground breaking ceremony on Sunday, April *28, 1999. Now, a little over one year, the church is about to occupy the new space.
The new building was beautifully designed by Mr. Lowell Baughan of Baughan and Baukhauges Architects in Luray, and the building contractor has been Mr. Robert “Bob” Metcalfe of Metlo Inc. of Flint Hill. Additional financing is being provided by the Rappahannock National Bank. The new facility includes a fellowship hall capable of seating 125 people, a large kitchen, a pastor’s study, a church office, two handicap accessible bathrooms, a connecting corridor and new foyer and a handicap
