Members of the Washington High School Class of 1950 gathered for a 50th Reunion, Saturday evening, May 13 at the Flint Hill Public House.
Jo Ellen Worth Crane could not attend. Other members of the 1950 class were fcucy Mae Smith and Silas Martin. A memorial service for £,Ucy Mae and Silas was held during the reunion.
This 15 member class was the last class to graduate from Washington High School. Some had attended all 12 years at this school. Others had attended class in the same room where the reunion was held, or in other elementary schools in the county.
Only two of the 13 class members live outside of Virginia. Mrs. Crane lives in Maryland and Mr. Goode in Louisiana. Three of the group have been married for 49 years.
Twenty-eight attended the reunion - classmates, husbands, wives and family members. Each shared things they had done in their life, family pictures, old memories of Washington High, including some of those old cheers. This was the very first reunion for this class. They are talking about having another next year.
