Child Caregiver/Educator training

The Madison County Virginia Cooperative Extension Office located on the Second Floor of the War Memorial Building, Madison will host the last Better Kid care Satellite offered by Penn state this season on June 1. The ‘Taking a New Look at Dramatic Play” workshop covers helping dramatic play happen; when a child is left out of play and ages and stages in dramatic play. To register for the June 1, 7 to 9 p.m. class call 727-3435, extension 2 by May 30.

Nature Camp to be held in July

The Rappahannock Nature Camp will be held July 3-14 at Singing Creek near Sperryville. This is a day camp for girls and boys age eight to 13, devoted to the study and exploration of local natural history. For information, call Lyt Wood at 675-1088, or pick up a brochure at the Tree Works office in Washington (next to Extension Office).

King, Queen contestants sought

The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company is seeking boys and girls to participate in the annual Honorary Fire King and Queen Contest. Contestants will be selling raffle tickets for a purebred Black Angus heifer and a cash prize.

Interested parties should contact Charlotte Turnmeyer at 635-8278. This year’s carnival will be held July 26 - 29. The parade is July 28.

Class reunion planned

Since 1961 there have been 427 graduates taught by 24 instructors of the LPN program currently located at CarverPiedmont Tech Center. There will be a reunion of all classes starting in 1961 through 2000 on June 3 at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper. Current addresses are need. Call Earl Aylor, RN, BSN, 547-3911 for details.
