On final count, seven trees were cut down in the space of about a half-hour, including a sycamore tree measuring two feet in diameter.
“We’re not sure why this was done, and we have few investigative leads,” said Sherertz. “If anyone has any information, I urge them to call us.”
No dollar value has been placed on the destroyed trees.
Fugitive caught
A Manassas man being sought by authorities in Iowa was apprehended by Sheriff’s deputies at Laurel Mills early on the morning of May 20 after they arrived on the scene to investigate reports of gunfire.
