Forty-two years ago a young man graduated from Rappahannock High School and embarked upon a career that has now just come to an end. Randolph Clater started work at the Comer Store in Sperryville on April 5, 1958. Full of hope and optimism, planning his life, certainly not able to look forward to the year 2000—the year that his first career ended and new opportunities awoke.
