School Board Chair Rosa Crocker, followed by other members, was not pleased with the prospect of suspending summer school, but Dr. Gangel said that they are “looking for other options” for summer school locations. Dr. Gangel said that approximately 25 students were expected for summer school.
School Board to
appoint Jackson District replacement
As a result of the June 20 resignation of Jackson District School Board member-Rebecca Cordani, the Board devised a plan and schedule for the selection of an interim replacement member. The member appointed by the School Board will serve until December of this year, after which the new Jackson District representative, elected at the special election to be held on Nov. 7 of this year, will be seated for the remainder of Ms. Cordani’s term.
In order to be considered for the interim Jackson District School Board seat, interested parties must, obviously, be Jackson District residents, and must present themselves at the School Board office no earlier than July 7, 2000, with a note of intent and a resume.
