Mrs. William Tayloe Griffith, formerly Mary Miller Saunders, better known locally as “Mary Lee” died at 89 on Monday, June 26 at her home, “Meadowbrook”.
She was bom April 17, 1911 on East Street in Culpeper to the late Virginius Lee Saunders and Olga Jessie Wood.
Mrs. Griffith was an avid gardener and was an active member of the Salem Garden Club. She was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Colville Griffith of Fairfax and Janet Locke Griffith Wilson of Harrisonburg and three sons, William Tayloe Griffith Jr. of Culpeper, David Lee Griffith of Greensboro, N.C. and Llewellyn Randolph Willis Griffith and his wife, Deborah
