Some changes have been made in future programs due to some lessons learned. Seniors have a lot to do, especially as the school year progresses. It was difficult to match mentor/mentee schedules between eighth and 12 graders. For the year 20002001 the mentors will be juniors and will be matched with ninth grade mentees.
Orientation sessions have already commenced for next year’s group of Starfish mentors and many have already been matched up with mentees. There is still time for others to volunteer to qualify for Starfish training.
The new group of mentors will include: Amber Allefn, Wendy Gillis, Kate Hutchinson, David Massie, Jessica Nawrocki, Lea Payne, Tabetha Swain, Philip Thomas, Stephen VonFange, Amanda Weakly and Betsy Welk.
