Bucky Clark contributes mightily to this energetic group of musicians with his mind blowing and heart wrenching instrumentals on tenor and alto saxophone.
Clark attended Berklee School of music in Boston, and has performed in numerous bands and recording sessions throughout his musical career.
While his first choice of musical genre is jazz, Clark is presently playing with three bands, with genres ranging from blues and jazz, to gospel and classical rock. An extremely versatile musician, he has been known to be employed by as many as seven bands at once.
Wes Allen on keyboards, whose musical style has been heavily influenced by jazz, has nearly 30 years of experience as a keyboard player. Allen’s soulful and skillful playing is an important dynamic for the unique sound of this band.
Allen is presently enrolled at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester where he studies jazz.
Rounding out the band is Craig Reed m bass, and Warren Jobe on drums. Reed has played bass in numerous ensembles up and down the east coast for over 30 years. He is an innovative bassist in high demand around the Charlottesville musical scene.
Warren Jobe, the youngest member of the group (still in his thirties), mixes a delicate balance of precision and warmth to the heartbeat of the material. He has played with numerous bands within the Charlottesville area.
The Tangentials have performed in Charlottesville at the Prism (acoustically), Vinegar Hill Grill and in the Live Arts Main Space.
