Dave Barrett, director of Virginia Cooperative Extension, added that the equine program is an outstanding example of how 4-H teaches life skills. “The youngsters learn the value of teamwork, developing interpersonal relationships, cooperation, initiative, follow-through, so that they become successful adults.”
Realtor convention set
The 80th annual convention of the Virginia Association of Realtors is scheduled for Sept. 20-24 at The Homestead in Hot Springs.
The convention is expected to draw between 500 and 1,000 attendees, with realtors and real estate specialists from around the state coming for education sessions and a real estate trade expo.
