Health/Screening programs set
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center:
July 12 at 1 p.m., program on “Dealing with Alzheimer’s” by Janet Light of the Northern Virginia Chapter Alzheimer’s Association.
July 19 at 1 p.m., program by Fire Marshal Department, Home Fire Prevention. At 11 a.m. the same day, the Lions Club sight and hearing van will be on the premises.
July 26 at 11:30 a.m., blood pressure check and at 1 p.m. program by Cathy Dray with the Virignia Department of Deaf and hard of Hearing.

Former Aileen employees to gather
All former Aileen employees are invited to attend a reunion on Saturday, July 15 beginning at noon at the Flint Hill carnival grounds. Those attending should bring a covered dish and a drink to share. For more information call Joyce Pullen at 9878091.

The 2000 Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Fair catalogs are now available at the Rappahannock County Extension Office on Gay Street in Washington. The deadline for entries has been extended to July 14.
Hitt family dinner slated
Descendants of 1714 German Immigrant Peter Hitt will gather July 14 at the Gourdvine Baptist Church at 5 p.m. for a dinner and talk by Donnie Johnson on the history of the church. Prepaid reservations of $10 per person must be made to Mary Doyle Johnson, 1995 Clays Mill Road, Lexington, Ky. 40503-1239 by July 8.
King, Queen contestants sought
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company is seeking boys and girls to participate in the annual Honorary Fire King and Queen Contest. Contestants will be' selling raffle tickets for a purebred Black Angus heifer and a cash prize. Interested parties should contact Charlotte Turnmeyer at 635-8278.
Summer camps scheduled
TASC for Teens of Jeffersonton is organizing and leading two 2-week Canadian Wilderness Fishing Summer Camps to beautiful Northern Ontario for youth ages 10-17 on July 8-21 and July 29-Aug. 11. The trips will leave from Jeffersonton and include qualified and caring staff, complete instruction, round-trip transportation, meals, most camping equipment, cabin lodging and motorboat.
