The Woodville General Store, known for the past 30-some years as Burke's Grocery, will continue to be operated in a country store tradition, according to Myrtle and James Falls, the new proprietors. The Falls have been in charge of the store since the death of Mrs. Falls' mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Burke in September. The Falls couple ran the Corner Store in Sperryville from 1955 to 1965.

County Administrator John McCarthy reported to the Board of Supervisors oh progress in moving toward "Emergency 911" telephone service at their monthly meeting Monday. He said that telephone bills will start showing the two dollar surcharge that will support the service in November and that the county treasurer should start receiving funds in January.
