He was predeceased by his first wife, Lillian Pauline Derflinger Laing; one brother, Morris "Puddin" Elwood Laing and one sister, Clarice Virginia Clatterbuck.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Tumer-Robertshaw Chapel with the Rev. Dottie and Gerald Holden officiating. Interment was in Bennett's Chapel Cemetery.

Ned Wilson Atkins, 75, of Linden died Monday, Sept. 25 at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Sept. 28 at Maddox Funeral Home by the Rev. Doug Stewart. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Atkins was born Sept. 20, 1925 in Spenyville, son of Charles B. and Eunice Clater Atkins. He was a retired carpenter with Local Carpenters Union 2033 of Front Royal.
