County clubs,

workshops

There will be new 4-H clubs and workshops offered throughout the 2000-2001 year. One of the workshops will be the 4-H Veterinary Science Program under the volunteer leadership of Dr. Derek Vandrey and Dr. Tom Massie of Rose Hill Veterinary in Washington, and Dr. Joe Garvin. The objective of this program is to introduce the fundamentals of animal health and the broad scope and many fields of veterinary medicine.

The teaching material will stress the importance of recognizing the normal animal, its structure, function and appearance, in contrast of the abnormal or sick animal. This workshop is offered to youth 12 years and older.

The first meeting of the year will be held on Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m. at the Extension Office. There will also be an adult Basket Making Workshop, 4-H Exchange Club, Super Sitters, Sewing, and a 4-H Power Point Presentation Group to work on entering the state competition in June 2001.

We have a wonderful offering of monthly 4-H club meet
