Items needed for RAWL's auction
Do you have items in your attic too dear to pitch, too sentimental to sell? Why not pass a few such treasures along to ; Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL). Suitable items will be sold at a charity auction during the animal shelter's annu- « al fundraiser to be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Windrush Farm. ;
In particular, small items with a value of under $100 are needed. Also, merchandise made or sold in Rappahannock County is especially desired. Smaller items will be sold through a silent auction; colorful cowboy "Doc" Mitchell will auction bigtickets items live. Parents of 10th and 11th grade students at Rappahannock County High School: The PSAT (Practice Scholastic Aptitude ! Test) will be administered at Rappahannock County High School on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students have already had the opportunity to sign up for this test through their Resource class. However, there is still time to sign up. The cost ! is $9.50. '
Students are to pay Ms. Campbell in the Guidance office at their convenience during school hours. Payment can be made by , cash or check. Please make checks payable to RCHS. Payment ; must be received no later than Thursday, Oct. 19. This test is given only once during the school year. It is an excellent prepa- ! ration for the SAT which is one of several tests required for ; admission to most four year colleges and universities. Public invited to Trout meeting
The public is invited to hear Eric Shockey discuss "Spin fishing for Trout." Mr. Shockey is a member of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter, Trout Unlimited. This program will , take place on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m., in the Front ; Royal Youth Center, located at the northeast corner of > Commerce Street, U.S. 522 and East 8th Street.
This program is sponsored by the Northern Shenandoah ' Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited that meets monthly at 7:30 p.m. on thq second Wednesday of the month. The Chapter charter includes a four county area, all of Page, Shenandoah and ! Warren counties and the northwestern part of Rappahannock ■ County.

Hearthstone to host festival
Hearthstone School is hosting a benefit Fall Festival on Oct. > 14 to celebrate the purchase of their new school and the turning ! of the seasons. Fall craft festival planned
The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will sponsor a Fall Craft Festival 2000 on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be crafts, music, food, games, antique cars, fire • prevention handouts, fire truck displays and many other attrac- ■ tions.
