the Linden United Methodist Church, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 829, the Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion and the VFW Post 1860.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine Hudson Atkins; two sons, Jerry Atkins of Winchester and Skip Atkins of Front Royal; three daughters, Barbara Fletcher of Linden, Nancy Butler and Faye Prince, both of Front Royal; a sister, Lucy Strother of Front Royal; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Cindrella Cooper, Mary Frances Gaston and Virginia Heflin and two brothers, Franklin Atkins and Jack Atkins.

Dolly Madison Jenkins, 87, of Luray died Friday, Sept. 29 at MontVue Nursing Home in Luray.
