The RCHS Athletic Director initiated this past week the first ever Junior Lady Panthers team for girls' basketball. This year the team will consist of eighth grade girls only because of time and funding constraints associated with mid-season start up.
Beginning next year, the team will have try outs for and be composed of sixth, seventh, and eighth grade girls. Athletic Director and JV Girls Basketball Coach, Mr. Jon Smythe said, "My experience to this point has convinced me that we will never field competitive t^ams in our District if we don't offer our girls an opportunity to start competing earlier than they do now. The other Bull Run District schools have JV and Varsity programs fed by girls from middle school teams and the experience-gap shows." * The girls' basketball
